Sell Your Agency

Sell Your Insurance Agency to a Long-Term Owner

    Last updated: October 2026

6 Point Holdings acquires and operates independent property and casualty insurance agencies across the United States. We are a direct buyer, not a broker. We focus on smaller agencies, generally with $5 million or less in written premium, and we are open to conversations with larger agencies. We do not pursue aggressive integration, rebranding or resale. Your agency keeps its name, its people and its client relationships.

    Who we buy

Independent P&C agencies: personal lines, commercial lines, or both. Any state. Generally $5 million or less in written premium.

We buy whole agencies and books of business. There is no strict minimum size. If you have built a book worth protecting, we are glad to talk.

What stays the same after you sell

Your agency name and brand. Your team. Your clients and service model.

Carrier appointments are handled case by case. We coordinate directly with you and your carriers so relationships carry through the transition without disruption.

    How the process works

    1. 01

      Confidential conversation

A private call about your goals and timing. No financials needed yet.

    2. 02

      NDA and initial review

We sign an NDA before you share financial information.

    3. 03

      Indication of value

After a first look at your commission statements and book summary, we provide a free, confidential, no-obligation indication of value, generally within a couple of weeks.

    4. 04

      Due diligence

We review commission statements, book and retention data, and carrier relationships.

    5. 05

      Closing and transition

Timelines vary by agency. We move at your pace, not ours.

    Deal structures

We tailor each transaction to the seller's goals. Structures we offer include:

    • Cash at close

A cash payment to the seller when the transaction closes.

    • Seller note

A portion of the price paid over time under a promissory note.

    • Earnout

Additional consideration tied to the performance of the book after closing.

    • Revenue share on retained book

Ongoing payments based on the revenue the book continues to produce.

    • Equity rollover and staying on

Sellers can retain a stake and remain involved in leadership, production or an advisory role.

    What to have ready

The last 12 to 24 months of commission statements, a book of business summary by line and carrier, retention data, carrier appointments, staff roster and roles, and P&L statements.

    Agencies we own

Kite Insurance Agency (Pensacola, Florida). EL Risk (New Jersey). Each operates under its own brand and leadership.
